[Venus transit at our school]
|
We have organized an observation at our school on the day of the transit on 8th June 2004.
The outdoor observational team comprising four students had its station in the school sports field. Photos and information from the internet, where they were placed by professional observatories during the transit, were screened in the computer classroom. -It was the second station. A teacher of physics was present at the station of the outdoor team to supervise the observation. The equipment of the computer classroom was operated by another teacher. Both the computer classroom and the outdoor station were gradually visited by students of our school in the accompaniment of their teachers. After the students heard the skilled explanation, they could try to observe the transit themselves using a specially adapted telescope.
Each station was visited by more than 300 students.
