Transit of Venus across the Sun can be seen only twice per 130 years. For the first time in our millennium this effect took place on 8th June 2004. Next occurence will be on 6th June 2012 but in Europe, we won't be able to see it. Thus next opportunity will be given to us in 22nd century.

This website offers you photos from our observation in Slany (Czech Republic). On page “AU calculation” you can learn why this effect is considered important and how we can evaluate AU from the data taken from our observation. Brief information about our school and our team are on page “About school”.
