On May 21, less than three weeks before the Venus Transit, Venus offered all sky gazers a very nice show as appetizer: the Moon passed in front of Venus for observers in a broad geographical section across Europe and Asia. This event is referred to as a "Venus Occultation" and was followed by many amateur astronomers.
