How did we observe the phenomenon?

We used a lens refractor with the object lens of 70mm diameter and 700mm focal length. We projected the picture of the Sun on the shade through the ocular with the aid of the projection method. Then we video-taped it. Here presented photos were made using these film shots. The whole observation took place in Brno-Vinohrady. The coordinates of the observation post were: latitude: 49°12’13” North, longitude: 16°39’28” East.

How did the times of particular contacts come out?

We did not manage to establish these moments exactly just by visual observation. Therefore, it was necessary to clutch at some more accurate methods. With the help of the shots we had made, we managed to approach the times of contacts quite exactly. Our results are lumped together in the following summary.

1st contact 5:19:21 UT

2nd contact 5:39:34 UT

3rd contact 11:03:34 UT

4th contact 11:22:58 UT
